In my group when we conducted the practical task that involved setting up a small PA system i worked with Vittoria and Maren. My role in this group was to plug the cables into the speakers and connecting the iPod. The job in which we were required to undertake involved plugging in a microphone on a stand and an iPod into a amp and speakers and to test if they work correctly ad play a track from the iPod, with someone introducing the song on the microphone. I believe that I completed this role well as we were able to successfully connect everything and we were able to get it working correctly. The jobs in which we assigned each other to do proved to work well as we all knew what we had to do and we weren't standing around doing nothing. Over all we worked well as a team and effective planning before completing a task is always the best way to go as every group member knows what they are doing and helps to get the job done more efficiently and fast.
When i completed setting up the hall PA i worked in a group with Vittoria and Rosanne. My role in the group was to stay in the bio box and adjust the sound levels of the microphones to get the correct volume in which was required and to turn on and off the music. The task in which we were required to undertake involved us being able to show that we could correctly turn off and on the PA system in the hall. We had to play a CD and test the lectern, handheld and a dynamic microphone. Some of the difficulties we came across were only having 3 people in our group, if we had 4 people it would have been easier to set up the microphones on the stage, but apart from that we worked well and got the task done. Our overall team work was great as we communicated with each other and did the jobs in which we assigned to each other. Communication was the key to completing this assessment well and I believe that we did this well.
OH&S issues:
-Trips and falls on leads
-Faulty cables
-Heavy Equipment
-Electricity hazards
The overall team work of my 2 groups was great as we were able to communicate with each other and were able to set tasks for each other to complete the task in faster time and this proved to have worked for us, so we will have to remember our strategies that worked well to use in future practical tasks.
